It’s Pynchon season coming up and one of the things he keeps coming back to in his later books is the idea of extremely powerful or straight-up evil people having a Road to Damascus moment where they try to make up for all the horror they’ve inflicted by using that power to make something right.

Weirdly this is not the only time I've seen anti-trans ideologues get very weird about adoptive/step-parents where they insist calling them a parent is a polite fiction, rather than i think the more common understanding that there are many routes to becoming a parent.
Damn, Andy Ngo brilliantly shredded the Garcia narrative. So, he’s also a *step-father*, you say?
