Good morning, BlueSky! My 'Ann Folkard' geranium is still blooming, just like the Mariners baseball season. This is a great perennial to grow, in #Seattle or most zones. Have a lovely day! #gardening
I read this article with curiosity, truly wondering what he would have to say. It was the most convoluted bunch of words I've ever seen. Made me think his brain was damaged somehow, and reminded me of Einstein's quote: "If you can't explain something simply, you don't understand it well enough." 😵‍💫

This was me on the couch in the last inning, only my rally shoe was a black hoka. #Mariners #Seattle

I had a rally shoe on my head in the last inning, so yes, you are correct. 😁
Let's "win the whole f*cking thing!"
This morning, I was stunned to see my yucca gloriosa blooming. It took 12 years! Love that raspberry color on the petals.

It's amazing how something so beautifully complex as a rose can be so common. Life truly is about stopping to smell the roses, or at least pausing to enjoy their beauty. Grateful for plants today.

This is great news! We have trees that had ivy during previous owners. It defoliated branches, which broke and fell. It's still a big problem. People don't know its dangers & nurseries still sell it. Now that's about to change. Yay!

Washington state bans invasive ivy
Washington state has banned the sale or transport of English ivy and its cousin, Atlantic ivy. The leafy holiday decorations are also aggressive invaders of Northwest forests.

Good news of the day...
The shade comes from solar panels, using that same relentless sunshine to generate energy. The sheep, in turn, cut down on mowing costs for the solar farm.
In Georgia, sheep on a solar farm is not a baaad idea
While often controversial, solar panels on farms in Georgia work out when you add a flock of sheep.

Thanks for this post. Father's Day was always lonely for me growing up because I lost my dad at a very young age.
So can putting scented plants on your patio deter mosquitos? Well, yes and no. I dove in and did some research for this latest article. Here's a gifted link:

We went to this in Belgravia many years ago. When the ceanothus were in bloom in Eccleston Square. It was spectacular. As a gardener, I was delighted that I could tour it. Thanks for keeping them lovely!
Yes, it’s a laburnum anagyroides.
I'm re-posting this as I still have some irises and crocosmia left to give for free to #Seattle #gardening lovers.
Good morning, #Seattle! I have purple irises and orange crocosmia potted up and ready to give away. And have other kinds of perennials too. One hellebore left. If you like gardening and want free plants, let me know!

Your show has become my favorite podcast over these last few months, Andy! Like the interviews and call-ins can be fun too. And love the Chicago memories. Cheers.
Good Friday morning, gardeners! I noticed my golden chain tree in bloom and it brought me such joy. First time it's bloomed since the transplant years ago.

Does anyone else grow Madame Lemoine lilac? It's so strongly fragrant, when I put them in a vase, they flood the house with a heavenly sweet smell.

I see. Yeah, probably not. Also, not sure if you literally meant topsoil, but topsoil would definitely be heavier than potting soil. Good luck, looking forward to seeing what you grow!
