Why did the BBC think they should say that a woman in her 90s who has suffered serious injuries “was dressed in dark clothes”?

Do they think that is relevant? Did she in any way make this driver hit her?

I dunno, convert some of the endless paved space reserved for cars into green space that can absorb water, maybe?

Sorry, forget it. That could result in a car owner being inconvenienced, which would of course be far worse than the flooding of our cities and towns.
Is there anything we can do to alleviate flash floods in the West Midlands
Experts say housebuilding and concrete drives are making floods worse, but that there are things we can do.

It really is just simple geometry.

You cannot build a functional city if everyone brings a 2-ton living room on wheels with them.

69% of adults find it unacceptable that there may still be cars in the UK with #Dieselgate emissions defeat technology fitted.

A decade on, we're still breathing the emissions from these cars. Government needs to step up and make car manufacturers fund the recall of cars failing emissions testing.

Everyone needs to wee and poo every day.

Access to toilets should simply be a public health and accessibility issue and not dependent on other people’s views of how much you “look like” a man or a woman.

The EHRC has no clue about equalities and their priorities are shamefully discriminatory.

Love this World Toilet Day loo-tour! 🚽

Accessible toilets shouldn’t be hit-and-miss. They’re essential for disabled people to travel with confidence. We shouldn't be stopped in our tracks because the loos we can use are locked, broken or missing.
#WorldToiletDay is TODAY! 🚽

🔍Today, the London Loo Alliance will be touring the transport network to inspect some of TfL’s public toilet facilities to see which stations are ‘on a roll’ and which stations are ‘loos’ing out.

I was out for a peaceful walk until my path was blocked by this sign. Hey, Martin Traffic Management, Wiltshire Council, @chippenhamtown.com I guess cars are more important than the safety of people who walk and wheel?

Q. If I move this sign to a patch of grass opposite, can I get in trouble?

When cities and society can take care of the needs of our oldest, youngest, and people that face the most uphill battles in life, it will indirectly take great care of all of us in between as well.

We have to make all decisions going forward that puts everything else first and car culture last.

Our most vulnerable members of society are the victims of our poor decisions to prioritize car culture, exclaiming that because robust public transit or high quality, efficient sidewalks are of no use to us in particular that our tax dollars shouldn't fund it. This is narcissistically selfish.

J17 Eastbound of the M4 - we always slow right down even when our light is on green because so many people go through when their light is red.

When our light turns green we always wait a few seconds before moving because there's always someone 'more important' racing to 'beat the lights' 😡
"Running a red is different. It’s a threat powered by gasoline, thousands of pounds of metal, a heavy foot and a desire to cheat the system, even for a microsecond. It’s an active threat. People die."
