And that's one of the major problems I have with AI. It's not a tool for truth, or for making our jobs easier, or anything like that. It's only there to generate profit, and the vast majority of that profit is generated via misinformation.

That's very true, and what's so much more insidious in this case is that they can't use the AI to make physical items; all it's good for is grifting actual fiber artists. They use the AI to generate an image and a pattern, and then those get sold to people like us who are trying to make them.
