Every one running for office who considers themselves a "good guy" in the US will run on a platform that includes comprehensive privacy laws that will cut this shit off at the legs.
Still can’t even get all democrats on board to impeach Secretary Noem.

Congress needs to stop this. That’s their job.

Every so often I pop into xcancel to check out what is happening on Jamaican twitter. Have 2 accounts I check to really know what's up.

One of them has to do with investment and what the local space is saying and they always amuse me.

My "scam" flags are going off because the timing of Mr. Paul's interest in Pokemon cards and their increased role in black market FOREX trading is not lost on me.

So when thousands of women (and children) were being duplicated--including in non-consensual AI porn--it was no big deal. But it took "only a 15-sec clip" of these two famous white men to draw outrage and fear. Gotcha. Cool cool.
It took only a 15-second clip of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt duking it out on a crumbling rooftop — made by A.I. with a two-sentence prompt and the click of a button — to draw swift outrage, and sizable fear, from Hollywood.

"It’s nothing short of terrifying," one scriptwriter said.
Why an A.I. Video of Tom Cruise Battling Brad Pitt Spooked Hollywood
A 15-second clip created by an artificial intelligence tool owned by the Chinese technology company ByteDance appears more cinematic than anything so far.

Among the reasons I’m burned out and inimical to tech now is in my last job I watched social media companies fund meaningful outside research into halting the use of their platforms by terrorists and violent extremists at a platform design level and then ignore it all or do the exact opposite.
for all this social media research we have we sure don't actually use it to inform the social media we build

Honestly, I think anyone who voted for or supported MAGA should be restricted to the whitest of foods. Ban them from tacos and only allow them to eat porridge, let em listen to hip-hop but only Vanilla Ice and hick-hop, and let them watch sports where only white western Americans are playing.

The gravest mistake is that we assume facism is inherently competent whem the truth is that it is fundamentally reliant on anti-intellectualism and reactive thinking

So the DOD started laser testing because they believed party balloons were drones, shut down all of El Paso airspace, and blamed it on Mexican cartels?

Some companies used AI to create the impression that jobs were being replaced by technology.

That made layoffs sound like a byproduct of innovation, rather than the result of declining revenue or unmet growth expectations.

They could lay people off to cut costs and still get investor money.

Amazing to see people willing to call out the foolishness in their local market but turn around and advocate for the same fuckries in foreign markets

The internet has taught me that any continuous creative endeavor must be made the exact same way in every iteration forever and ever.

Also that fandoms are insufferable.

I'm not mad. Dollar for Dollar TCL builds some of the best TVs. Sony has some of the absolute best panels. While it is a degree of consolidation I think Sony lacks focus as a company and there's more than enough completion in the space

The blood has not been washed off the sidewalks in Iran, people still don't have the bodies of their family members, and internet access has not been fully restored and people are raising venture capital.

How absolutely disgusting and dispicable.
