If you give this administration a presumption of honesty, you are acting like a credulous sucker.

Literally nothing coming from the Pentagon, DHS, or DOJ should be considered credible unless backed up by an independent source outside of government. (This, for the record, is a huge problem!)

She was tackled by ICE on her way to work & is now suing Trump’s government. This outrageous stuff is happening across Chicago. Thanks to vigilant residents who capture it on video as happened here, the rest of us can see how out of control ICE truly is.

Debbie Brockman, a WGN-TV producer violently arrested by ICE Friday morning in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago, has retained an attorney and intends to "pursue all legal avenues available" to hold federal authorities accountable, according to a news release Tuesday.
Brockman and her legal team
"adamantly deny" allegations that she assaulted federal officers during an immigration enforcement action, according to the release. They assert she was simply walking to the bus stop on her way to work when she was attacked by Border Patrol agents.

I refuse to stand by while extreme Republicans rip away health care, rights and freedoms from the people.

Federal workers are going without pay or getting fired entirely, putting hundreds of thousands of families livelihoods at risk.

And where are Republican House members? On paid vacations, not showing up to work for weeks on end.

"The richest man in the world and the owner of the most influential social media site in US politics is a nazi who openly supports and amplifies other nazis" would, on its face, seem to be rather newsworthy!

Hey news people: I know you like to pretend this doesn't exist, but you need to pay attention to the Nazi drama on Twitter. Basically, it seems as if Elon just restored two major neo-Nazi accounts that were banned by his product head, and might be about to fire the product head for banning them

OTD in 1906 Hannah Arendt was born.

"The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact & fiction and the distinction between true & false no longer exist".

Proud Boys grow up to become proud ICE agents.
hunterw.bsky.social
NEW: I took a long look at the Proud Boys and found some of their most extreme chapters are sharing ICE recruiting materials on encrypted apps and even suggesting members have joined up. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/in-the-...

Trump already gave so many of us jobs with ICE. We may have to start recruiting soon to fill all these spots.

According to Goldman Sachs, 88% of US tariffs are being paid by American companies and consumers. Only 9% are being paid by foreign exporters.

Fox: The tariffs, 10% for lumber, 25% for cabinets, furniture. On January 1st, the tariff for cabinets and vanities increase to 50%, furniture to 30%. The cost of building materials has increased 34%. There is a concern that this is not going to be great for the home buying industry

Christian Nationalism is an oxymoron. Neither Protestant nor Catholic theology restricts the church community within national borders. Nor does theology dictate forced conversion. "The act of faith is of its very nature a free act."

These men are not saving Christianity - they are perverting it.

A federal judge said "DHS, you cannot legally put this language into a grant." So what DHS did is... keep putting that language in grants — but with a new disclaimer saying it would only apply if the court order was struck down.

The judge was NOT happy.

Judge William Smith (W. Bush appointee): The Government has done "precisely what the ... [court's] Order forbids."

The case is Illinois v. FEMA

On Wednesday, we'll publish an updated catalogue of such judicial decisions on noncompliance with court orders at @justsecurity.org at the link below:

I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.

Powell on Trump's immigration policies: "Stronger policy than most people had expected. We've seen a very sharp decline in growth of the labor force and in and people entering the country ... new people that come into the workforce create supply but they also create their own demand."
