All Labour, Green and independent councillors at Oxford City Council have just called for public ownership of Thames Water

This government can't stop the rising tide of public opinion, even from their own councillors.

📣 Public ownership of Thames Water NOW.

A reminder that child poverty is very definitely a political choice, and one of those "hard choices" that the political class are always more than willing to make, while other things remain immutably non-negotiable.

This is one of the changes in the UK media landscape that should be more remarked on: the fact that being a very open, proud, outright racist is no longer a bar to being a pundit on some TV stations (in this case GBN and Talk TV).
Lucy White advocates a ban on "non-natives" from office, citing Rishi Sunak and Priti Patel.

So she is referring to UK-born ethnic minority citizens. (Her argument would apply equally to Shabana Mahmood, Kemi Badenoch, Suella Braverman and others)

Cruel. Callous. Cowardly.

The public are seeing this Labour government for exactly who they are.

We all have a responsibility to make them pay at the ballot box.

Reject the hate. Reject them.

This is not who we are. Let's make hope normal again.

There’s plenty to criticise about the BBC — but it’s our BBC, and when Trump attacks it, we should defend it.

The BBC World Service supports democracy activists worldwide. I Let's look into the motives of those attacking the BBC.

I'm pretty old (71), so I remember clearly the National Front in the 1970s. They were pariahs that the main political parties wouldn't touch with a 10ft pole. What is shocking is that the LABOUR party is now coming out with the same policies. What on earth would the likes of Benn, Foot etc. think?
No, I'd say it's racists and those pandering to them.

The Labour Government reeling off the same far-right talking points on immigration. And look who is celebrating. The far-right.

I seem to remember Labour very recently making attack ads about how @zackpolanski.bsky.social and the Greens didn't care about the environment and that Labour are the REAL party of climate action.

Labour are an absolute disgrace on every conceivable level.

When Labour in the future say you have to vote for them to stop Reform – remember there are countless reasons that argument is equal parts absurd and offensive.

But 26th August 2025 should stand out for their complete capitulation to the right.

Absolutely shameful.

Not his description of "invasion", not his prediction that the UK on brink of civil war, not plans to pay the Taliban or Iran to take back migrants, or indeed to rule out doing so themselves.

I am sickened by the relentless demonisation of refugees.

No refugee underfunded a school.

No refugee closed a hospital.

No refugee took away support from the sick and disabled.

We need solutions not scapegoats. Stop blaming refugees and tax the rich instead!
