The next general election being years away and the current momentum of the Greens makes me optimistic.

🚧 Sorry everyone, it appears we're currently under a DDOS attack and our host, Linode, put a networking restriction on our main web server, meaning it isn't publicly available. We've reached out to them for more information. Hope to have an update soon.

Testing achievements and Steam integration today.

Today I'm starting a beta test of the full game. My plan is to have this running while I finish up a few final things and start on the final marketing push.

If you'd like to test and give feedback on the full game, come join the discord server: discord.gg/cQCET4NrgG

Had to find a nice middle ground, but I agree, it feels pretty good :)

This year has had a ton of indie bangers.... But what about next year? Post your steam page/trailer/site below and show us what you're releasing in the next 12 months!

Reskeeeeeeeeeets welcome!

Hey! I initially thought I'd be releasing early this year, but since this is my first game there was obviously way more work than I anticipated! :)

But here it is, hopefully releasing in a couple of months, my pixel physics space mining game:

Looks like I reacted too quickly. It's funny that regardless of this the ICO are still going to pursue the fine.

Also, I'm just now learning that Imgur is owned by a company called Media Lab AI. So fuck that.
Really cool that Imgur has blocked the UK as a result of the Online Safety Act. Definitely not going to impact me and all my game related images hosted there.

👍
I've added a Ram which lets you smash into things without hurting yourself. It also comes with its own tiny highscore tracker :)

@jdsherbert.itch.io has been doing really amazing work for the game's OST, with more to come.

Give it a listen here if you've not heard it in the demo yet!

#OTD 19 September 1991, walkers in the high Ötztal alps on the Italian border, found a body melting out of the ice. It turned out to be the remains of a c.5200 year old man preserved with all his kit.
Of course, it was essential to replicate him in Playmobil.

This is nice, I think I'd go with this approach if my tutorial wasn't interactive and there were more elements to explain.
I think there are two kinds of players who do this; those that can then figure out the game on their own, and those who can't and then quit early.

Catering to both without annoying people has been tricky, and now I understand why many games have tedious tutorials.
I've been surprised by some of this feedback, since a lot of the issues mentioned could be solved by reading a small amount of text that's actually on the screen. But some people just like pressing buttons, and I should really appreciate that if they've already taken the time to play my game.
I got some feedback recently that quite a few players didn't realise there were more levels after the tutorial in my demo. So I've been working to find and fix any UX issues new players might have.

It always makes my week seeing a Let's Play of my game. I think this one does a really nice job of showing it off :)
