I'll admit, if you like complaining then the game awards should keep you happy until the new year.

I feel like this means there's room for other smaller awards shows to serve actual indie audiences. @debugawards.com is looking pretty good, so I'm excited to see what comes of their 2025 awards.

On the one hand I don't care because that whole awards show is about money and not art, but on the other it's annoying that it's held up alongside actual indies and claimed to be better than them.

(Visually I think it looks bland as fuck, too)

13. Deep Space Exploitation

The dev game me a copy, and I got so god damn sucked into it, played a few playthroughs now, and it's incredibly satisfying. Blast asteroids to mine gems and pay off your crippling space debt. And lotta fun things you can do with the games physics systems.

I don't have any real insight or ideas on how to fix this, but I do agree that it feels off and even a small increase would make a world of difference to a lot of indies.

And there I was wondering if anyone would bother :)

If you haven't seen, there's a "chill" difficulty which gives more time and more forgiving damage, which might help with the stress :)
