So bummed. I would buy used copies of The Aim EP and give out to friends in my zeal to spread the Gospel of Bailter Space.
If you don't know Gordons or Bailter Space, must hear. Robot World is one of the best records of the 90s, by far, noise guitar bliss. They get put in the 'shoegaze', but they were in their own category of dreamy sci fi noise rock. RIP drummer Brent McLachlan.
Extremely sad news that Brent McLachlan, the amazing drummer from New Zealand groups the Gordons and Bailterspace, has died after a long bout of ill health. He’d settled in the US and ran a studio in NYC; I was finally lucky enough to see Bailterspace live a couple of years back. Tremendous.

I actually think that if you've made a career out of calling for violence and emboldening calls thereof, that having to taste your own medicine is in fact not only deserved but the moderate option in terms of consequences

I've never felt I had a place in the church because 🏳️🌈, but a queer-friendly resurgence of Maryknoll-flavored liberation theology would get my ass in the pews with a black lace mantilla on my head so fast...
Also all the hype about a fringe tradcath milieu that gained prominent recruits like JD Vance misses how much of the American Catholic hierarch from Pope Leo on down are more in the type of angry lib warrior priests
