Tom Cotton is Arkansas’s 21st century version of J. William Fulbright

…but just the white supremacy part. Nothing more.
It looks like Tom Cotton was being deceptive by saying video shows the men trying to flip boat "loaded with drugs." As I reported, Ds who saw video say no drugs were visible/boat was crippled.

Q for Rs is simple: Did you see drugs and was boat incapacitated, or no?

So it turns out that, with the TX GOP's new gerrymander, there are no fewer than 18 of what you might call "Aftyn Behn" districts. That is to say, seats between Trump +20 to +25—seats Dems probably won't win, but where they could throw a serious scare into the GOP.

A Missouri appeals court just handed a big win to reproductive supporters by rewriting a summary of a GOP-backed ballot measure to repeal the right to an abortion after concluding the prior version was misleading in many ways.

Idk, Indiana and Florida Republicans might wanna reconsider gerrymandering their already gerrymandered maps…

And if Trump’s disapproval sinks lower with non-white voters (especially Latinos), they might need let SCOTUS uphold that lower court’s order in Texas.

It’s astounding how one brief interaction with a stranger can make my “problems” feel rather trivial.

Also: the existence of extreme poverty *and* extreme wealth is a travesty.

Court ruled the TX gerrymander is illegal in part bc it was spurred by a letter from Trump's DOJ that demanded a redrawing for explicitly racial reasons.
(First 2 images.)

@mcpli.bsky.social had told Bolts of DOJ letter: "starts to look a lot like intentional racial discrimination."

Just now: The plaintiffs who were arguing that Utah GOP's congressional map is illegal won in court.

The judge orders one of the two maps submitted by the plaintiffs ('map 1') be used.

The ruling, if it stands, guarantees that Democrats will pick up a congressional seat in Utah next year.

Tanya Woo winning more votes than all but four people in Seattle history and losing by 17 points certainly tells you something about having a race during a presidential year
The Rinck, Evans, and Foster campaigns are now officially ranked 2nd, 9th, and 13th, respectively, in total votes received in general elections in Seattle going back to 1973. AMR now holds the top two spots. And counting is far from done.
