FUCKING HELL.

Finally found what I thought to be a better written explainer about a specific algo, but toward the end it got a little awkward and subtly wrong?

You know exactly where I'm going with this. So fucking angry.

I need the tech industry [first letter][number of letters omitted][last letter] thing to stop.

I need everyone responsible for it to be dropped into separate vats of expired pudding in the middle of an unpopular desert at night.

It's a real "what is our limit" kind of a week.

It's wild how fast they went from "how dare you call us nazis" to just saying the nazi shit out loud.

If somebody wants to steal the Yamaha MOTOROiD2 concept bike for me, I **promise** I will destroy it in the most spectacular wipeout imaginable. Might even survive!

No, what the hell. No living creature is allowed to be this pretty.

DALnet and IceNet were so damn cozy for that. Frequented some good channels with great mods that actively sniffed out - and actually disposed of - drama llamas, nazis, and creeps.

I miss moderation with spine.

"Transsexuality is bourgeois" reflects the common belief that medicine, technology, and any improvements to quality of life are owed to capitalism. The reality is that capitalism holds these improvements hostage for the sake of wealth.

Happy Columbo’s Day
Screenshot from Columbo. He his talking to his dog, which is sitting is the drivers seat of a car. “Okay, I’m gonna put you in charge. You take care of the car. You’re a responsible dog. When I get back, if the car’s okay, I’ll give you another cookie.” “If the car’s gone,” “I’ll give you another cookie anyway” “because I love you.”

It ain't all rosy for sure, but I've never regretted it.

Wonder if there's a correlation between corporate logotypes moving to boring low-contrast geometric fonts and rising global fascism.

Every new Usagi Electric video about the Bendix G-15 makes me want a vintage computer/electronics aesthetic Mega Man even more. (Which, funny enough, is something I've done for actual paid work that will never see the light of day.)

Might tackle that [in a way I *can* show] after this code project.

more clearly framed:

the US has approximately 342 million people.

400 people in the US have more money than 171 million people *combined*
rbreich.bsky.social
The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

every single time I check the federal reserve's "Distribution of Household Wealth in the U.S." graph, I think for a second that "bottom 50%" is the bottom big slice- and then realize in horror that it's the tiny sliver at the bottom
