If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2.

There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security.

Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation."

TURN IT OFF.

"Text and image generation uses on-device AI technologies to quickly respond to requests. Turning this settings off will not affect apps and features using cloud AI technologies.

There’s a free application, shutup10++, that lets you disable all the shitty windows stuff with a series of checkboxes.
It even tracks if windows rolls anything back between updates and lets you reverse the changes with a click.
I can personally recommend shutup10++ if you need to stick with windows

If you intend to keep using Windows, you can remove the "AI" garbage and telemetry with Windows 11 Debloat.

It also works on Windows 10, because Windows 10 ALSO has Copilot.

I do think it’s important.

I've had issues with csp just crashing on me when my files get too big, but again it's an old ipad. I think its fine for illustrations and if you stick to the first half of the comics process. Probably wouldn't have an issue with page format comics

I have an old one that I use only for travelling. I didn't like it much, I felt like it was way too pressure sensitive. I like it for sketching and light work, but nothing more intensive than that. It wasn't very good for (scroll) comics due to the large file size
