I describe myself as too old to climb trees or chain myself to railings, but old enough to change my mind and do it anyway. I want to live in a fair and decent world. I value the contribution immigrants have made to Britain. Live and let live.
You will be telling me next that Mr Collins was Jewish.
I have, of course, removed my post.
www.charlesdickenspage.com/from-fagin-t... Jack London sent me this article after I likened Keir Starmer to Uriah Heep. I had no idea that Heep was considered, by some, to be Jewish . It was not in that context that I compared their characters. Not at all. Do read the article.

That was not my perception. I had no idea people imagined Uriah Heep was Jewish? It was actually what I observed when Starmer was in America, and at other times with Trump. At one point, I thought Trump was the going to pat him on the head, he was so creepy around him. Surely you saw that?
"He wrings his hands like Uriah Heep and slithers around everybody..."

There is a wide perception Heep was based on a popular conception of jews in Dicken's England

Do not use my dislike of Starmer’s politics to promote discord regarding religion. I don’t care if he is Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Atheist or Druid. I do care that he is honest, transparent and brave enough to stand up to wrong.
Is that antisemitism about a man who is not even a Jew? Or just ignorance..

In my opinion, Trump is nothing. His opinion means nothing to me. He has no credibility. I believe him to be dishonest.
"Do they really want the BBC brought down by a rich foreign billionaire who doesn't need the money?"

Public support for the BBC has been waning, but could Donald Trump’s $10bn lawsuit now turn the tide?

Support has been waning for the BBC because it is being run by the right. It forces Farage onto us every two minutes, and had shown awful bias in programmes like Question Time. As for Trump. Does anyone support him in the UK? If they do, I would have serious questions about their motives.

“A catastrophic data breach.”

For two years, the government took The News Agents to court over a leaked MOD document - under a super injunction.

Now it’s lifted.

www.theguardian.com/commentisfre.... Is it a false economy to charge people for the vaccine? I think so. If you add up the cost of lost work hours. Doctors and hospital time and child care etc. It would surely be much cheaper to have a free preventative injection?

An early flu season, a new variant and poor takeup of vaccines leave the already vulnerable health service in a dangerous position, says Prof Devi Sridhar, chair of global public health at the Univers...

So does their grandmother.
Europe has faced withering attacks from U.S. President Donald Trump and tirades from X owner Elon Musk.

But pro-EU memes are flowing thicker and faster than ever online.

My sympathy goes to all those who have suffered such terrible loss. Just as I feel for all victims of violence like this.

More innocent lives lost. It achieves nothing. It plants a seed of hatred that will last generations. That is all. We should all concentrate our energy on trying to stop the real perpetrators of disgusting crimes, not this.

The medical regulator seems to be years behind the rest of the country, doesn’t it? Have they only just twigged?
The NHS could be left with “huge holes” in its medical workforce if foreign doctors leave the health service, according to the medical regulator

I would much rather see this discussion, and cross my fingers for cooperation, than see Starmer acting like a toadie with Trump. Trump seems to patronise Starmer as thought he is mentoring our PM. Ugh!

I thought I wanted to read all these articles. I find, though, that I already agree with them. This man is not somebody I want in my politics. He supports Putin. In my view he is an obvious and thorough racist. I believe him to be less than honest. I recoil from him.
