I didn’t know before this trip that Eero Saarinen designed the #stlouis arch. I pushed to name our son Eero but my wife decided against it in the end. #architecture #design

Spotted in the wild. The ‘59 Cadillac is the quintessential 50s classic car. Look at those fins! I’m gagged. #MidCenturyModern #ClassicCars #ModernismWeek #PalmSprings #CarsOfBluesky

The Warner Theatre in West Chester, Pennsylvania was a 1,600 seat cinema from 1930 into the 1970s. After an attempt as a live theatre in the 1980s, the auditorium was demolished in 1986. Since 2012 the surviving art deco facade and lobby serve as the entrance to a hotel on the same site.

Plate 37 is Printemps, designed by Henri Sauvage & Georges Wybo in a sophisticated style, more appropriate to the modern exhibition of 1937 than the dying gasp of #ArtDeco in 1925
Plate 38 is Studium du Louvre by Albert Laprade with sculpture by Albert Binquet and wrought ironwork by Edgar Brandt

I fell for a guy who was into Wright. One of our early dates was a visit to the Darwin D. Martin House. We're still together 37 years later and have memories of visiting many other Wright buildings.
