"Nobel Pedo Prize Winner" was my personal favorite from today.
This energy is good. This is the kind of stuff that carries people into the harder moments of all this. That, more than any effect the protest has, is the point. Especially for all the people driving by and honking who get to see people who clearly feel like they do.
It goes for nearly a mile or more. Good job, Greensboro.
Wendover Avenue in Greensboro.
My friend Jeremy, my co-host during the radio show's first year, turned me on to Silver Jews via AMERICAN WATER, but TANGLEWOOD NUMBERS was the first new Joos album I bought in a store. I love other SJ albums more, but that one's special because of it.
Tonight's show was full of 30 year anniversaries, but I think the anniversary that got me most was that it's been 20 years since Silver Jews' TANGLEWOOD NUMBERS came out.
The song I played tonight, "Best I Did It," is great. Gonna have to hear more.
Final set: Katy and the Null Sets, and the Smashing Pumpkins to close us out tonight. See you in two weeks!
Tune in and help me celebrate having finally paid off my ER bill from a year and a half ago.

Agreed. DICK HARDER was just not a good movie. And don't even mention BACK FROM HELL'S HEART.
I'm on the very outskirts. It's a certified dance party.
These are also the kind of events I fear for deeply.
Noches Latinas in Greensboro are one of the best First Friday events, and if you haven't been to one, you should. It's amazing how they've grown over the year or two they've been happening.
