A couple months back, when I was getting that profile art done, I gave Destiny an idea for a depiction of a climatic scene from the Murder Drones story I'm writing. The rest is history.

There’s an interview going around about AI, so before there are any questions, let me state unequivocally that BLACK PHONE 2 is 100% organic. AI was not used at any stage of the filmmaking from idea generation, research, look books, writing, onscreen images - anything. We’re old school and love it.

My creative writing courses online frequently either deny use of AI generation, or suggest how to utilize it. And every single time the latter happens I have to bite my tongue from making an email ranting about how CREATIVE writing implies being CREATIVE and not outsourcing to a fucking computer.

Whenever indie devs use AI, it hurts their sales potential and retention because it’s a 🚩red flag for generalized unprofessionalism and cut corners.

Getting real art from a pro will make you look like a pro.

If you're a solo dev/small indie team looking for art or logos please don't turn to genAI. I would honestly rather folks reach out to a designer and offer like rev share alongside a smaller up front cost to get something made by a person.
