used to be when you were offline for a few days you could sort of delude yourself into thinking maybe everything had gotten better but now even if you're in the middle of nowhere, completely disconnected, you can feel, just in the air, that somehow it's now even worse than you can imagine

I meant to just go to the studio and sig my last pot but I hadn’t thrown in so long I just needed to Make Things. So I threw six things, including these adorable bottles and a future jar.

I have successfully decapitated and salvaged the angry vase! The shape isn’t as lovely as it was before but I think it’s still rad and, more inportantly, not in the reclaim bucket.

Man that was tense trying to slowly cut through a bone dry rim 😬

Finally was able to get to the studio. Spent 4 hours doing Terra sig and burnishing. Of course one of my very favorites had an accident. I’ve brought it home to see if I can salvage it with a little decapitation.

Next week we saggar!

Our lonely Covid thanksgiving went ok. Turkey was good. Weird CSA potatoes we had lying around made pretty good mash. Made homemade dinner rolls for the first time since we weren’t getting the family crescent rolls. Had no pie options so I just made choc chip cookies and honestly that was better.

This did not come out BADLY per se, and I’ll probably come to love it. But I definitely did it on the wrong clay body. The granular ilmenite in this clay has such strong speckles that interfere with the pattern really standing out. #pottery
