okay here's a thread of some of my favorite pieces from the last 4-5 years (presented in no particular order):
digital painting of Gene Kelly in Singin' In The Rain (1952) digital painting of Kong (Andy Serkis) and Ann (Naomi Watts) in King Kong (2005) digital painting of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince.

4. Not understanding the streaming industry (to be fair, I don't know if anyone really understands the streaming industry)

They're currently in a "flop era" (which they've had before). I think it's being brought on by a combination of things:
1. Changing markets from the pandemic
2. An over-reliance on established franchises
3. Unstable leadership (the Chapek/Iger switcheroo was particularly damaging)

Will & Grace is such an interesting show, because the supporting characters of Jack and Karen are SO much more entertaining than the titular pair. Like, the show is really uneven because of that difference.

My favorite Struzen poster is probably the one he did for the 1997 re-release of the original Star Wars film.

I love the color palette he used, and the way some of the ships are popping out of the inner "frame." The whole thing conveys the optimism and imagination of Lucas's film so well.
1997 theatrical poster for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope by Drew Struzan

The poster features the likenesses of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Obi-Wan Kenobi against a nebula-like background with multiple starships flying out of it. The color palette uses lots of dusky oranges and bright golds, and is reminiscent of a sunset.
