My dad passed 22 years ago today. Not a significant anniversary or anything, but he's been on my mind lately. Still miss him. That never goes away.

I'm friends with an army colonel. We've not talked about Hegseth. But from past conversations about the HUGE struggles in recruitment, a big problem is alienating recruits who feel like no one wants them around. Like, ya know, anyone non-white. I'm sure this message will go over REAL well.

To be fair to the writers, Margaret's character arc was FAR more common irl when the show aired. Hypercompetent women struggling with societal expectations and being dragged down by childish boyfriends until they shed them years later was almost expected.

Very true. In my case I was working on pretty specific trauma and had always intended for it to be more short term, but yeah, it would have been easy to shift to someone else with similar techniques if I'd wanted to continue.

That's great! EMDR really helped with the grieving process after my dad passed. Unfortunately I had to stop seeing that therapist because (and I assure you this next, bizarre part is 100% true) her rates got too high after her novel was optioned into a Lifetime movie starring Rosie O'Donnell

I'm always concerned incidents like today will result in retaliatory attacks against vulnerable leftists. But the reality is right wingers have openly endorsed and encouraged our culture of violence. Government sanctioned violence is the order of the day. Big picture, Kirk won't move the needle.
