Have had a lot of new followers lately! Thank you all so much for your support!

So, I decided to make this little infographic to help y'all get to know me better 😊
Jess Shaut (She/her) Current project: Drafting a dual POV cozy horror/romance. Day Job: Stay at home mom to two crazy awesome ND kids! About Me: Writer, Hella ADHD, Chronically Ill, book lover, happily married 11 years, 2 kids, 3 animals. Page Disclaimer: I'm a bleeding heart liberal who believes trans rights are human rights, vaccines work, autism is NOT a disease, immigrants are welcome, and everyone should be afforded due process.
Any of my friends tried Factor meals? Struggling with chronic illness and it’s been tough to cook. Is factor quality okay? Pricing?
Having a day where it’s difficult to be upright for long periods of time. So, I’m laying on the couch snuggling my 6yo.

Could be worse, I suppose.

#chronicillness #CFS #POTS
Sounds like a solid truce! Lol
I will say it again...

If you support this administration, unfollow me.
Nearly all employees within the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) were dismissed in Friday’s reduction-in-force, leaving only a few senior officials and administrative staff.
I know that it's a sensory input thing, but if my son could NOT listen to everything on volume 1000000 that would be great.

Signed,

A very overstimulated mom
Share a cartoon from the past that kids today probably never heard of.
Watching Clue again last night (per my 6yos request) and when the cop shows up at the door, she turns to me and in all seriousness goes "He's gonna get bumped".

WHERE did you learn that phrase, child of mine 😂
Love that for you! I wish I was more of a plotter. It would probably make my life a whole lot easier lol
I go back and forth really. At heart, I'm a discovery writer. I try to plot things, but the story always tends to veer off on its own at some point. Then, I find myself re-plotting part way through. How about you? Plotter or pantser?
😂 I get you though. Having a structure and formula to go off of definitely helps set things up.
Feeling extra anxious today.

Therapist cancels session.

...yeah, that sounds about right.

You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't
Isn't it?!? The middle is always where I find myself in trouble.

Day 14:

The problem is that I have my ending for the most part figured out...it's just getting there without any major plot holes that's tripping me up.

14. Now that you have some ideas of your story's beginning and the main character's goals & growth, can you come up with a few different story endings that would be satisfying for a reader?

Introduce yourself using only one food you refuse to eat, one movie you’ll never watch again, and one song you can’t stand

Avocado - tastes like mushy grass to me 🤷‍♀️

The Notebook

Fancy by Iggy Azalea

Sweet potato: cannot handle the texture no matter how it's prepared

Twilight: opinions are too extreme & varied for me to discuss publicly

Hound Dog

Cilantro (technically a garnish, but it tastes like soap 😖)

The Dark Knight (just didn't hit w/me)

Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time (just typing it has me heated 😤)
Me: I really need to eat better.

Also me: KETTLE CORN 😍
Oh yes, lol. They do not mesh so well at first.
There is doubt about hauntings in the world. Everett disbelieves because he's never encountered evidence to prove its existence. Sophie believes because she's a full blood medium, can see and hear spirits and has been raised knowing that her whole life.
For everyone besides Everett 🤣
Everett loves Wes...he really does...

Day 13:

As it's laid out, my story starts with Sophie successfully crossing over a spirit for a client, and Everett successfully disproving the existence of a haunting for a client of his own. I really wanted to lay out not only who they are, but how different they are to each other.

13. Let's begin brainstorming the main plot points of our WIPs. Knowing what you know of your main character(s), what are a few potential ways you could begin their story?

Day 12:

Everett, my other MC and the eventual LI, is one obstacle to Sophie reaching her goals. His disbelief in her and her work create a barrier to success, and her need to prove him wrong stops her from seeing that not all spirits can be saved.

12. What could you use to represent obstacles that try to stop the main character(s) from achieving their goals and from growing into the person they could potentially be? Consider other characters, forces of nature, difficult circumstances, etc.

Day 11:

Sophie needs to learn that not every spirit can be saved, no matter how much she wants to or how hard she tries. Her optimism needs to give way to a little bit of harsh realism. She needs to grow up a little bit.

11. What are some possible ways your main character(s) could grow and change over the course of the story? On the other hand, what are some ways their growth could be hindered?
