They've always hated DnD. They're just trying to come up with new reasons.
And also, as a player who started back in late 1ed/early 2nd edition I welcome the Stranger Things generation with open arms. DnD has always been a home for the people that society rejects.

here's the crazy escaping the triangle: i've never had thaumaturgy work much, but theurgy always works. but that's doubly confusing because what i mean is that theurgy has thaumaturgical effects. those rituals which aim at the psycho-spiritual growth of the initiate will have an effect on assiah.
