"Only god can judge me."

The god:
The ancient Egyptian god Medjed, who looks like a man in a Halloween costume of a ghost with just his bare feet sticking out from beneath the sheet.

I recently did a read of some of those foundational Quietest texts and couldn't make heads or tails of them because they lacked a detail on what exactly you are supposed to do--how you were supposed to actually practice it. Although THE MIRROR OF SIMPLE SOULS had a passage I quite liked:

i often try to tell well-meaning but ignorant people from blue states that they have no idea how bad rural white southerners are behind closed doors.

"Transsexuality is bourgeois" reflects the common belief that medicine, technology, and any improvements to quality of life are owed to capitalism. The reality is that capitalism holds these improvements hostage for the sake of wealth.

Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves. One for practice and the other one is the "main" grave.

The whole thing falls apart when you ask this one simple question: How did it happen all around the world, in every culture, all at once? Don't make a lick of sense, almost as if the author were only interested in Western culture. Wow! It's Hero with a Thousand Faces all over again!

For me, it's The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind. What an absolute load of nonsense that is easily exposed as such if you stop for five seconds and think about what's being said.

"Sapiens" is the latter. So is everything by Niall Ferguson. Contrast that with Graeber and Wengrow's "Dawn of Everything": You might disagree with its arguments (I do in places!) but you can't doubt the depth and care of the research.
