I recently did a read of some of those foundational Quietest texts and couldn't make heads or tails of them because they lacked a detail on what exactly you are supposed to do--how you were supposed to actually practice it. Although THE MIRROR OF SIMPLE SOULS had a passage I quite liked:

"Sapiens" is the latter. So is everything by Niall Ferguson. Contrast that with Graeber and Wengrow's "Dawn of Everything": You might disagree with its arguments (I do in places!) but you can't doubt the depth and care of the research.
