I’m not a big watcher of sports, but this season turned me into Blue Jays fan. I’ll be tuned in next season. I hope the players hold their heads high. Canada is so proud.

I don't feel bad for the Blue Jays. Great club, great fans, great culture. They were the underdog and pushed one of the most stacked teams ever to the brink in Game 7 and I would argue carried the most momentum throughout the series. They got every reason to stand tall.
Smith has demonstrated she has no respect for worker’s rights.

Poilievre has tricked many blue collar workers into believing he is fighting for them. Conservatives DO NOT care for workers.

The media should press Poilievre. Does he support Smith’s use of the Notwithstanding Clause?

Nenshi: when you say "one of the best high schools in the province", that used to mean "one of the best high schools in the world"
We're not just hurting Alberta's economy, we're hurting Alberta.

I want to be clear: Our children's education should never depend on the price of oil.

It will be interesting to see how overriding charter rights, forcing a rejected labour deal on workers, and threatening substantial fines will impact Alberta's plan to add and recruit 3,000 new teachers over the next 3 years.

An important note…

Smith isn’t just overriding the federal Charter…

She’s also overriding the Alberta Human Rights Act AND the Alberta Bill of Rights she just rewrote.

That’s really unfair. Would it be so costly if it was all covered under a public plan? I have no idea, but I do wonder if private insurance allows profit margins to increase.
I thought about this today. How do people afford to pay for oral mouth surgery without savings or credit cards?
I’m not sure if he’s on it. We have private insurance and will get reimbursed… if the insurance company (Green Shield) doesn’t make us jump through too many hopes, which is always our experience with them.
My son is having his wisdom teeth removed and the receptionist told me to check with my financial institution that they will allow me to pay up to $3500 today with my card. I looked at her in disbelief.
This is Canada. We have public healthcare. Why is the mouth except from the rest of the body?
Don’t say that. It’s one more stupid reason to invade us. 😳😆

Bray is a historian at Rutgers who received death threats after landing on Turning Points USA's Professor Watchlist. As a result, he announced he was moving to Europe. And then this happened.

This kind of harassment and abuse of scholars is Charlie Kirk's legacy and it's only getting worse.
“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’
Will a single soybean farmer vote Democrat next time if Democrats are gleeful about their Trump caused hardships?
Come on USA— unite against your common enemy. It’s not each other.

I just learned that Dr. Darren Markham died in a mountain biking accident. I loved following him on Twitter before I left it. He was an Edmonton doctor who gave us good info on COVID. My heart goes out to his family. 💔❤️‍🩹
I learned this from @nativecalgarian.bsky.social listening to their podcast. 😢
If you’re looking for Truth on this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this is a good piece on the Frog Lake massacre. This piece explores how the narrative created by Teresa Delaney was weaponized to create residential schools and the dangerous Indians narrative.

I thought I knew the bloody saga of Frog Lake. Then I learned another side of the story — The Globe and Mail
A deadly encounter in 1885, between Cree warriors and settlers in Alberta, is part of my heritage. But a recent discovery has cast the events in a new light

Silencing dissent is anti-democratic. The Alberta government has billions in surplus. It is a choice to cut education funding. It is a choice to rob children of a well funded public education. Albertans should be pissed. Demand better.

An Albertan teen asked the government about the looming teacher strike & the gov cut his mic saying he wasn’t allowed to make chaos & should he turned over his parents’ knee.
The UCP would win a majority of an election were held today.
Why are Albertans ok w/ this?

Yes. I agree. However, I’m not opposed to Canada Post modernizing and delivery becoming more equitable. We’ve had to go to a community mailbox for decades. Others have door-to-door delivery. It’s not even standardized in cities.
I don’t understand the mindset of people who behave like this. I sat in the gallery of the Sk legislature and was appalled by the conservative behaviour there too. We’d never act like that at our jobs. Why should they?

I’m pretty proud of myself. I finally hit the elusive 20km goal. And, it was a work day, too.
