And/but social isolation (too much online activity, not enough face to face clubs, sports, monthly meetings, local weak ties) divides us, makes communities easier to conquer.
Light rail from Montreal to St Catherine’s.
Culture + religion (and its art, literature, music, family ties, traditions) is what makes life worth living. There is no life without culture. When has there been public life w/o culture?
Can’t we just add Eid and Diwali celebrations, traditions rather than subtract Christmas?
Old man in our local shop just told me that Tesco have removed the word "Christmas" from their mince pies so it doesn't "offend the Muslims" and I reckon that means Christmas time is now officially upon us.

Has there ever been a time in Canadian history where a political candidates verified dirty laundry has not been aired by journalists?

Public interest always weighs heavily for the courts and hard to argue there is no public interest in this case.

Why do the people using the law to shut you up are always the ones bitching about "cancel culture"...

"we need to stay in power in order to avoid prison"

Steve Bannon: If we lose the midterms and we lose 2028, some in this room are going to prison, myself included.

You know what? There's actually a tested solution to this! it is brilliantly simple, and it WORKS.

I would love to see @bsky.app and @support.bsky.team test this out.

Tristan Harris and the folks at the Centre for Humane Tech and Your Undivided Attention have been raising awareness of this problem for a while.

I heard some old friends at Pod Save America were in town, so I decided to stop by. As we saw this week, we can change this country for the better. But it’s going to take all of us getting organized and having honest conversations about the best way forward.
Yes. Women are bitches if we ask that men focus on the task at hand, not their desire to have a little fun. Protecting our boundaries is depriving men of the fun they feel entitled to. And now managers have access to our data so we can be targeted. If we complain, we are bitches seeking revenge.

establishment journalism's abject failure to express that this man has absolutely no idea how anything works should never be forgiven or forgotten

1) Kavanaugh was in the line to shake the Pope's hand at a Justice event a few months ago. He bowed slightly, and looked a bit starstruck.
2) I saw Vance and Usha explaining the gifts they came with. My read on Vance is that he does feel some awe for the office of Pope.

Mamdani: "My message to ICE agents & to everyone across this city is that everyone will be held to the same standard of the law. If you violate it, you must be held accountable. There is sadly a sense growing that certain people are allowed to violate that law, whether they be POTUS or ICE agents."
The US Catholics still respect the Pope. That was clear when Vance and one of the SCOTUS justices visited. This Pope talks about unity a lot. Restrain fascist elements in the Church, but remain basic unity.
β€œthink appearing as angels of light in the church has gotta be the last place you'd expect to find devils and demons” Please explain more.
Hi Alex. Thank you.
Priests aren’t evil. It is the idea that they must be perfect just as our Father in heaven is perfect. I heard that in a talk on V2 from Sr Maureen Sullivan a few years ago.

I think this makes them lie and cover up mistakes, which isn’t fair to victims.
