My love for science origin story is that my dad was an engineer on the primary mirror project for the Hubble Space Telescope.

So I was super interested in this feature from @natastron.nature.com about the next space telescope! It'll be to hunt for life on other worlds.
NASA’s bold new telescope will do more than just hunt for life
Nature Astronomy - The Habitable Worlds Observatory will look for inhabited worlds beyond our Solar System in the 2040s and scientists are dreaming of what else it might do.

Now might be a good time to repost this story about what scientists actually know about the complex causes of autism, and what's behind the increasing prevalence.

Autism is on the rise: what’s really behind the increase?
RFK Jr has vowed to find out what’s responsible, but scientists say he is ignoring answers from decades of research.

This is upsetting.
Teens calling Idaho's suicide hotline are being told they can't proceed with the conversation without parental consent. Many of the callers are then hanging up.

Idaho approved a strict parental consent law last year.

Today is a sad day. I had to put up the worst looking fence ever on my community garden plot because the deer eats keeping my tomatoes (and already ate all my bean plants). Soap isn't cutting it this year 😭

We had some fencing and stakes available to us, so that's what I used 🌱

I feel like "according to AI" is the new "according to Wikipedia," but that is a giant slap in the face of Wikipedia.

I'd trust Wikipedia has a general source a billion times over AI. Wikipedia editors are amazing, and I'm sure the work is a lot harder now than it's ever been.
