Criticizing Democrats from the left does not reinforce right wing arguments. (indeed, fwiw, it makes Democrats seem more moderate!)

Criticizing Democrats from the right reinforces MAGA criticism.
The *vibe* of the new publication is clearly “we are here to defend liberalism against its leftwing assailants.”

Launching that sort of publication in summer 2025 is, let’s just say, *A CHOICE*.

There is an evergreen market for that sort of writing. You will never go broke writing this stuff.

Wow. If this were a war, it'd be crystal clear war crime. Without a war, it's just an astonishing case of murder.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

Nothing gets to the ultimate disingenuousness of "popularism" than his deeply embedded status with AI.

Rather than sucking up to AI oligarchs, Democrats ought to commit themselves to fighting against them.

Big Tech Poised to Win Immunity Shield From State AI Regulation - The American Prospect
The Trump administration is readying an executive order preempting constraints on AI. It could become a much more wide-ranging deregulatory tool.

Republicans will blame Democrats for the shooter. Don't let them.

Democrats:
- allowed Afghans to seek refuge after aiding the U.S. and fleeing the Taliban

Republicans:
- approved shooter's refugee status in April 2025
- allowed shooter to access a gun
- placed NG soldiers in the line of fire

Important developments. The Montana Supreme Court has played a really important role in heading off far-right conservatism in the state, so of course the Republican Party is weaponizing the ethics process to attack them.
Pretty alarming that Republican lawmakers in Montana are no longer even pretending to respect the state supreme court as part of a co-equal branch of government

The Justice Department's settlement against RealPage doesn't take a dime of its profits from rental price-fixing, nor does it take away the data used to collude, which can still train the company's AI models. The restrictions imposed were things RealPage agreed to voluntarily a year ago.
Not good!

“Permitting reform” premised on “tech neutral” policy only favors fossil fuels for the duration of Trump 2.0.

It will, at best, provide only marginal benefit for renewables while hobbling future POTUS’ power to rein in fossil fuels.

I do not see a path that benefits the public interest.
Trump Is the Biggest Wild Card in Permitting Reform
