This is kidnapping and child trafficking, plain and simple. Completely illegal and unconscionably cruel. My heart breaks for him and his parents.

ICE kidnapped a 7th-grader with a pending asylum claim and spirited him out of state without notifying his parents, seemingly with the cooperation of the local police in Everett, MA.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by ICE in Everett and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

This. Portland Frog & crew have given me a renewed boost of hope that I seriously needed.

Dear Green Frogs & other inflatable heroes in Portland,

You have made this week BEARable & I’m so grateful. Authoritarianism fucks with our heads. Your activism provides a grounding, loving & peaceful vibe during a horrific time.

Don’t ever quit!

Love, Me

Did you know a group of frogs is called an army? How perfect is that? Power to the peaceful frog army 🐸✊

Why are we posting so much frog content?

Because it totally undermines the propaganda of the Trump regime.

We are peaceful frogs. The regime’s secret police are violent agitators.

When we expose the ridiculousness of their lies, the regime loses credibility and support.

Stay froggy, y’all! 🐸✊

When Republicans are pre-butting a pro-democracy rally like No Kings and making shit up left and right to scare people, you know they're losing and in panic mode.

Mamdani: I run against a disgraced former governor who, in this moment, has chosen to issue a statement in which he cannot even say the name Tish James, nor the name Donald Trump.

If you cannot say Trump’s name today—how will you stand up to him tomorrow?

I don’t just want you to pay attention to Chicago because I want you to understand our plight. I want you to see how hard people are fighting and know wtf you’re made of. We’re not just fighting for this place. This is for all of us.

It's a pretty big deal that the NYC Bar Association--one of the most prominent and respected bar associations in the country--is accusing the President of ordering the "unlawful summary execution," i.e. murder--of civilians in violation of US and international law. www.nycbar.org/press-releas...

Republicans claim undocumented immigrants are getting healthcare, and that’s why the government is shut down

It’s a lie…but why shouldn’t they receive care if they need it?

Immigrants keep the country going. They often work terribly difficult jobs for little pay

Healthcare is a basic human right

To all the parents who feel like they’re not doing enough to fight back right now because they’re taking care of their kids: you are doing your part by raising good humans who would never treat other people’s kids - or anyone - with this kind of cruelty and inhumanity.

I've been saying this for two weeks!

AOC: Trump is weaker than he looks. They double down in public to overcompensate for it. They rely on the 'perception' of strength. They rely on the 'perception' of inevitability.

They want you to give up!

We can't give up. We have to be their consequence."
