161 years ago, U.S. soldiers killed a generation of Cheyenne and Arapahoe people in the horrific Sand Creek Massacre.

As we recognize those who were lost in this violent tragedy, we must never forget this dark moment in Colorado’s history, nor the wound these communities carry to this day.
