We explored how HRD1-dependent ERAD protects beta cells. We found that limiting this pathway causes misfolded proinsulin to accumulate, suppressing insulin synthesis and driving diabetes development.

We explored how HRD1-dependent ERAD protects beta cells. We found that limiting this pathway causes misfolded proinsulin to accumulate, suppressing insulin synthesis and driving diabetes development.
