Dems should fight on every front.

If Texas steals 5 seats, Dem states should redistrict 30 GOP members out of their districts.

We should insist DOJ release the entire Epstein File.

Not only shouldn't we bring knives to a gun fight, if they bring pistols, we should bring machine guns.

It's always crazy to me that we never have a problem with a dirt lot, but always spend so much on parking lot maintenance.
Mission Bay Park's 2026 budget: 52% for parking lots, 0% for wetland cleanup—despite voters ranking environment priority #2, maintenance #5.

Yes, wetlands get funded in future years, but the charter says the environment should come first, not last.

Truly amazing how much street space in SoCal is spent on center turn lanes, even on low volume residential streets.
After weeks of repaving work, C Street was restriped from three car lanes down to two car lanes and a bike lane in each direction!

Always surprised to see bike lanes on the inside (closer to traffic) of parked cars instead of the outside.

Great explanation of the manual by @acbowen.bsky.social:
Take my hand as I guide you through San Diego's new (draft) Street Design Manual and what it does — or doesn't do — to build a safer, more sustainable and more livable city.

Been working on this one for a while, hope you enjoy! www.kpbs.org/news/public-...
What's in — and what's missing from — San Diego's new 'Street Design Manual'
The city's design standards on everything from crosswalks to medians to bike lanes haven't been overhauled in more than 20 years.

🚨🚨 Please comment on the new San Diego Street Design Manual ⬇️
Ask for:
1. Intersections to have crosswalks on all sides, so that pedestrians aren't forced to cross 3 dangerous streets to cross 1 side
2. Ban right turn on red
3. Prioritize protected bike lanes over parking

Why can't Americans just buy European cars, like the id3? Why do we add so much cost to our supposed allies products?
"why don't Europeans buy American cars???" Is a question nobody who has seen the width of our roads is seriously asking.

I’m becoming more convinced that our immediate and intermediate future should focus on BRT with full priority over cars. Topology will challenge rail even without the hostile political climate, and the dense highway network is right there, if we have the political courage to take lanes.
In which we dissect the "conceptual planning study" of a high-speed rail line in San Diego, and consider the risks of dangling mega projects in front of marginalized communities with no realistic plan to build them:

San Diego's 'Purple Line' subway — and the dangers of 'planning fatigue'
SANDAG has long envisioned a new rail line from the border to Sorrento Mesa. But a recent planning study found immense cost and engineering challenges.

If you got room for a frunk, you should have designed it to have a van nose. These vehicles are so dangerous. Now that it’s air not motor it should be design regulated.

7.) Quick build sidewalk widening used fencing or bollards to delineate space. The hodgepodge of materials felt as if they just used whatever they had on hand and didn’t overthink it.
