Scott Matchmaker Michaels really giving his best "I'm not mad, don't put it in the papers that I'm mad" tweet storm
I don’t get how after multiple calls and texts from NASR’s President, FIFA’s head of Media Relations decided to disappear. It’s apparently okay for FIFA on a whim to terminate contact, and I’m supposed to accept that this is how it is.

I’ve never felt more frustrated and powerless.
FIFA Media Hub Update:

It’s about to be 2 months since my unjust removal and subsequent accreditation termination to Club World Cup. Since then Media Operations has been radio silent on my appeals which I’ve had multiple people advocate on my behalf, and provide proof that I belong.

It is a joke, the Switchbacks are going to outdraw #RBNY
This is an absolute failure as an organization by the New York Red Bulls.

“Oh we sent emails and tickets are cheap!”

This is the bare minimum and shameful. #RBNY made no attempt to sell this game. There was no way to give tickets away to local orgs? Have butts in seats?

I’m so tired.

That's that then.
It’s been 7 days since I’ve appealed, I have emails from club officials that can validate my professionalism on the field. Incredibly frustrating to me that FIFA can at a press of a button can delete my access and not even so much as acknowledge my request.
So apparently FIFA looks down on people who have 9-5 jobs. This is absolutely ridiculous. Why does it matter? Does me taking photos for Copa America and the whole list of other tournaments while working a 9-5 make me less than a professional photographer?
I know them well! I owe them a photographed game 😂
I'm just trying to make a living somehow, I can do a tournament and retain my ethics.
When I applied I showed physical proof of my previous accreditations, Copa America, MLS Cup Finals, FC Series, all those press passes.
Part of the application process was to undergo a background check, but I assumed that was checking criminal background, not just assuming that I’m only IT and not also a photographer.
I feel you on this, I’ve made $300 since 2018, so definitely hard to make this my FT job when no one wants to hire me for gigs. I just purely do it as a passion now.
No worries. Also dealing with Reddit idiots that are saying things like “Well you should simply get a FT photography job.”
What? What are you even talking about.
No equivalent that has any FIFA recognition or sanctioned by USSF.
It’s not even rejecting me, it’s first accepting me in and then turning around and then deleting my account and accreditation for CWC. So yeah… I’m not the only one either.
Literally they don’t say what gets you in or not, but my work with Copa American, FC Series, MLS Cup Finals, and Season credentials was enough for them to approve.

They revoked my access purely based on the fact I sustain my living with a 9 to 5 job. Not my work, not the fact I don’t have exp.
In my case and full transparency $300 since 2018
As of right now, I know off hand of 10 individuals that were previously approved and now had their accounts removed for having a 9-5 job.
I never like to ask for help but if people like @paultenorio.bsky.social @tombogert.bsky.social @mlsist.bsky.social or people from the league @taylortwellman.bsky.social or even @ussoccer.com can help or even bring it to someone’s attention I think FIFA would reconsider it.
How exactly is my fault that I can't get jobs with Getty or AP or Imagn?
