Live one incoming. Looks to be armed and ready with embarrassingly transparent bad faith. 🙄
I wish it were not the case that so many people were so eager to throw away their bare-minimum humanity. But whether in the service of religion, ideology, race, or — god help me — 𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙘𝙮, that’s a “sacrifice” they are happy to make.

Jesus.

According to these people, even MENTIONING the brutal slaughter committed by Hamas — and mentioning it in passing really is all Mamdani did — is a “betrayal” of the Gazans who have been relentlessly massacred ever since that day.

This thinking is both despicable and seemingly intractable.

The mind-numbing hypocrisy of rightly condemning IsraeI’s monstrous crimes, while at the same time minimizing the wanton slaughter of 10/7 at best and outright justifying it at worst, should be too obvious for comment, but sadly isn’t.

For these people, human empathy is zero-sum. Either/or.

Far as long as humans have existed, moral myopia and selective empathy have been our downfall.

The both-ways dehumanization of Palestinians/Gazans and Jews/Israelis, by those who have taken one “side” or the other, is soul destroying.

This brings back the horrifying and despairing days immediately after the Hamas attack, when it became clear just how MANY people practice the exact selective empathy that leads to atrocities like Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. Moral hypocrisy at its most grotesque.

Thread:

The reaction by some to Mamdani’s 10/7 statement is a cold reminder that for too many, advocacy for Palestinian rights has always been a flimsy fig leaf for anti-Jewish hatred.
For this ilk, even the most cursory acknowledgement of Israeli grief is “softening on the genocide”.

According to these people, even MENTIONING the brutal slaughter committed by Hamas two years ago — and mentioning it really is all Mamdani did — is a “betrayal” of the Gazans who have been relentlessly massacred ever since that day.

This thinking is both despicable and seemingly intractable.
There is not a large enough supply of contempt in the whole world for these influencers.
No we didn’t.
We knew.
We knew all along.

What’s more, I knew over 25 years ago that this is what the Republican Party would become if nothing was standing in their way. I was a damned KID and I knew.

People who didn’t were in denial. And those who still didn’t LAST YEAR— no excuse. None.
Silverstein abandoned his kid? 🥺

Check out this bozo.

There’s something awe-inspiring about developmentally stunted meatheads who throw spitballs at people above their paygrade, like guffawing third-grade bullyboys mocking kids who read.

It’s incredible that stuff like this is written by an adult.
But this whole thread is all about how horrible they supposedly are. I’m totally lost.
Not remotely satire.
Don’t stop, Congresswoman.
ICYMI: I stood with the families of those killed and detained by the Israeli government and settlers to demand justice, accountability, and action by the U.S. government.

Please take a moment to listen to their stories:
I’m missing something. Adams is horrible, but what’s so horrible about these new bins? Somebody fill me in.
An artifact from what was a more hopeful moment, but also the starting point of the most immediate pathway — the Tea Party — to the horror we‘re facing now.
For both reasons these make me sad.

She’s someone I wish I knew, or had known.
Maybe I haven’t read enough of the ‘70s and ‘80s stuff to accurately say this but it always seems like a welcome novelty when Lucy is shown talking with Sally, Marcie or Peppermint Patty. Especially Patty. It’s unusual. Though the two of them did have that “ear piercing“ storyline around this time.
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

😭
Wow.

That’s such a sea change from how it almost certainly would have gone twenty years ago. Maybe even less.
Mort Walker used to say that King wouldn’t even allow navels. 🫤
