This is a fantastically important and timely initiative from Channel 5 and one I hope will be emulated by the other UK channels. New stories and fresh voices are so needed right now - and so are opportunities to enable people to survive in a crumbling industry.

Newsagents’ deep dive into BBC situ is v level headed and wide ranging. Two things clear: Gibb should be nowhere near the BBC, and BBC general policy for bringing in people like that in a never ending charade to prove themselves not too lefty is weak, and clearly pointless.

The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

A brilliant example of what Lewis Goodall talks about when he argues why right-wing radicals keep winning. They don't play by the rules and simply don't care. Whereas the institutions they want to destroy do even when said rules are contorted to absurdity and are blatantly being used against them.
The founder of Newsmax was just on the Today programme pontificating about bias. Boy, the BBC loves to submit itself to flagellation.

Good. This is an important victory.

It's a stain on our democracy for Michelle Mone to remain in the House of Lords. But it's even more important that the Tory ministers who set up the corrupt PPE VIP lane in the first place are properly and fully held to account for the scandal
