It's abundantly clear that a lot of Department of Homeland Security agents take great pleasure in inflicting violence on other people.
The DOJ accuses Martinez of assulting/impeding a federal agent on Oct. 4, even after an agent shot her.

An exhibit filed yesterday shows text messages discussing media coverage of the case.

"I fired 5 rounds and she had 7 holes. Put that in your book boys."

Crazy how much some media has normalized the idea that voters are taking a risk if they elect governors/mayors who will defy Trump. That he’ll threaten their funding, etc.

Try to imagine, say. Greg Abbott being asked if he’s worried that Biden will punish Texas over his lawsuits.

Spotted a real National Guard patrol in Dupont Circle (left) this morning … then an individual in ill-fitting fatigues and gear (right) shortly thereafter. Is this an actual guardsman? Did not appear to be a Halloween costume. It’s increasingly difficult to tell who’s legit, which seems dangerous.

This is from Autocracy, Inc, about how modern autocratic propaganda works.

I consider this every time I decide what to share and how to frame it.

EXCLUSIVE: Christy McCormick, a top federal voting official, is facing calls to resign following an unhinged public rant in which she accused Democrats of promoting "open borders" and widespread voting by "illegal citizens" to gain votes.

Horrifying comments from a Republican member of an independent federal commission meant to help states administer fair and impartial elections and — most importantly — to retain and promote public trust in the democratic process.

All of this is true enough as far as it goes. But even more problematic is the fact that when the U.S. Coast Guard interdicts suspect vessels, boarding and searching for drugs, a quarter of the time they find no contraband.

We're not just murdering drug smugglers.
We are murdering innocent people.
Rep. Adam Smith: "This country has not agreed to have the death penalty for drug smuggling. If we want to have that policy conversation, we can have that policy conversation, but the president has unilaterally decided that lethal force is going to be applied. It's an enormous expansion of power."

Pretty sure "attacking another country's military infrastructure within its own borders" has a name...

This looks like a concentration camp.
Under Trump, the draconian future of homelessness policy is coming into focus: mass internment. Utah is building a 16-acre site to detain up to 1,300 homeless people inside locked "accountability centers." This is profoundly alarming.

The DOJ filed charges against Illinois Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh for allegedly conspiring to impede an immigration officer.

The case raises severe First Amendment and electoral concerns, as opposing Trump’s Chicago immigration raids has become a key part of her campaign.

The distillation of this is that your government is lying to you and plans to keep doing so.
Scoop: The Trump admin's videos boasting triumphs on immigration have used misleading footage from months ago or thousands of miles away

When we showed them the errors, DHS said they make a lot of videos and the White House said it'll keep making "banger memes"

Official videos purporting to show the triumph of recent immigration operations used footage that was years old or recorded thousands of miles away, a Washington Post analysis found.

No way the planned federal databases assembling one-touch access to every agency's information about a person would ever get misused this way.

Under Trump’s postmasters general, USPS has been quietly reducing pickups across the country, leading to 1 to 3 day delays. Mail-in voters don’t know this, putting millions at risk of accidental disenfranchisement.
Rural voters will be affected more, meaning Trump voters face the most risk.

It flies under the radar because it is overwhelmed by the sheer repulsiveness of the physical destruction of the east wing, but there is no way that a president should be allowed to use private money to change public property. It circumvents the power of the purse.

I obtained video of two FBI agents visiting an anti-ICE protester not charged with any crime.

While the media continue to mock Trump's war on "Antifa" as legally impossible, the FBI is quietly implementing it with investigations like these:
