They haven’t even completed the design yet and they’ve demolished part of the White House. Did anyone check for asbestos? Was the demolition crew using PPE?
That data comes from Realtors survey, but didn’t see how they selected which buyers to poll. The data is noisy year to year. Data from NY Fed shows a different story, and nothing like a near doubling in average age. Age of first-time homebuyers has edged up since 1980 wolfstreet.com/2025/08/11/a...
Where is the data from? I understand the long term trend, but it defies logic that the average age would jump like that unless the methodology was different from one year to the next. Is that apples-to-apples?
Root for Buddy Kennedy to get that World Series ring. It's a can't-lose proposition! But really root for the Dodgers because my son named our dog after Mr. Betts.
About 24.9% of the time, a majority of the judges will be Republican-appointed, since the chief was appointed by a democrat. But given that only the Trumpiest of judges seem to support the perspective, I think a Trump-friendly panel is very unlikely, guessing closer to 1/20.
My point was simply that the OP’s assertion that Kamala would’ve won the election with a net swing of 1.4 is wrong. Because clearly he didn’t mean that Hilary would’ve won the national vote with a small swing, since she won the national vote already.
I don’t want pop your balloon, but the actual vote totals show she lost Pennsylvania, the tipping point state, by 1.7%. Popular vote doesn’t matter, as Hilary learned. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Un...
Yes, but the claim isn't that moderates for 1.4 points better in ALL districts, but 1.4 points better in COMPETITIVE districts. Maybe they do worse in less-competitive districts, where marginal "progressive" voters are motivated by the passion of their candidate. Also, KH needed 1.7 points.
You work here long enough you move past the fear that comes from understanding the frailty of human life and replace it with taking joy in the small things that make life worth living.
It's probably not jury nullification-- that would imply she broke the law and the jury ignored that. Instead, this suggests that she simply didn't break the law-- lifting her knee to protect herself is, in fact, not an assault.
Thanks for explaining that clearly. I suppose if the round-trip efficiency approached that of batteries, someone would have already been working on an integrated solar-ThermalBattery-steam-turbine plant.
is this the type of high-pressure steam that spins turbines? And if so, does that imply that rather than chemical batteries, heat batteries can be used to provide continuous electricity all-day and all-night?
A massive study of NEARLY 300,000 people in the United States found that receiving an updated 2024-2025 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine REDUCED people’s risk of severe disease AND death in ALL age groups, REGARDLESS of immunity from prior infection or vaccination.
we just received a surprise generous donation to bolts today so I want to say thank you to everyone who reads us and everyone who has decided to support us—we love that you see our value and sustain us!
