Side note: for all the shit we give windows 11, going through the 10 install again really is a great reminder of how it was all already shit from the start. The ghost of Cortana returning from the grave to harass me, the demands to use onedrive and office, mandatory online accounts. Euuggh.
Reinstalled windows the other day (albeit through the "reset" option so who knows how jank that can be) as part of my 2026 space unfucking and without me doing anything but uninstalling bloatware (copilot, office, et al, the search bar just Consistently Actually Crashed The Start Menu.

It certainly helps that 90% of my expectations and wants for daily use (music production, art, sometimes games but largely 10+ year old shit lol) are modest enough that linux can actually impress me by merely Just Doing The Desired Thing Adequately.
