Whatever your thoughts on this issue, that was not a very balanced discussion #r4today

I mean, this should not have to be said, the fact that it does speaks volumes #r4today
Kaja Kallas @kajakallas.bsky.social :

Countries want to be in NATO because they don't want Russia to invade them, to attack them. And that's why Sweden and Finland joined NATO. That's why the Baltic states joined NATO, to have this defense umbrella, really.

Was on way to work during the #r4today segment on the MI6 chief’s speech on the threats posed by 🇷🇺 in particular. Was struck by 2 things. The attempt to shoehorn 🇨🇳 into the discussion,& the lack of reference to former UKIP/Brexit/Reform guy Nathan Gill’s recent 10yr jail sentence for taking 🇷🇺 bribes

Like clockwork. 28 days of #r4today silence. A few crossings yesterday and back to reporting, diminishing the record as “due to the weather” followed by a cosy chat with a far right French politician 🙄
Most odd that there has been no reporting of this on the bbc. Usually “small boat crossings” is given the highest priority on the bbc news webpage, push notifications and in particular on #r4today
There have been no small boat crossing in the England Channel for 16 days now.

This is the longest period without any since January 2024 &the 2nd longest since Feb 2020 (pre-COVID).

Nov saw 2338 arrivals - down 25% on the year before.

Sep-Nov quarter was down 18% on the year before.

A fine comeback from the Women. Still a disappointing result, but from 3-0 down after an hour, 3-3 with a 95th minute equaliser is a good effort

What has Labour even done for us since getting into power?

Quite a lot actually and they are just getting going!

Here are a few things (and I lost count)..and it's just a fraction of what they have done!

Let's get behind this Labour government!

They are changing lives for the better!

Conversely, serif fonts, such as Times New Roman, are less readable for those with dyslexia and/or autism

Using old coal mines to heat homes?

Gateshead is doing it.

Their mine-water project—the UK’s largest—draws 15°C water from boreholes, uses heat pumps to boost it to 80°C, and sends that heat through an underground network.

The system now warms 350+ homes and 23 buildings.
