One source from November 2025 reported that the paper has published over 100 corrections, clarifications, and formal regulatory apologies in 2025 alone. These range from minor amendments to headlines and online text to more significant corrections regarding data interpretation. Breaches of the Editors' Code The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) has made several rulings against The Telegraph for breaches of the Editors' Code in 2025, primarily related to Clause 1 (Accuracy). Specific upheld breaches in 2025 include: An August 2025 ruling regarding an article headlined "One in 12 in London is illegal migrant," where the figures used were found to be inaccurate, misleading, and based on flawed calculations. A related comment piece was also found in breach. An August 2025 ruling concerning an article headlined "Quarter of sex crimes carried out by foreigners," where IPSO found a "lack of care" had been taken with the headline, which presented an estimate as a definitive figure not supported by the article's text. An April 2025 ruling over a claim that the Muslim Association of Britain was "the British affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood", which was found to be inaccurate. The Telegraph generally publishes corrections promptly, sometimes without a formal order from IPSO, which the regulator takes into account in its decisions.

It started a sequence of 4,331 consecutive games with an Academy/Youth player in the official match day squad...300+ players...150+ internationals...20,000+ games ACADEMY NEWS: There seemed to be a lot of noise about Jack Fletcher being the only Academy player being involved yesterday...so here's a few things to note. 1. All youth systems work in cycles. There are often lean periods when players don't come through. We have had so many changes in managers over the last decade that it's been like a train station with so many new players. It makes it harder to break through. 2. We have had plenty of periods in our history where there have been only one youth player in the squad...twice in 1992/93 and three times in 1993/94 as examples. The mid 1970's, early 1980's and later 1980's were all periods where very few youth players were breaking through. 3. We have a proud record of having an Academy graduate in every match day squad since 1937...88 years and 4,333 games. But if players aren't good enough then we shouldn't pick people because of a statistic. Luckily we have 18 places available are we still have good youngsters. 4. Historically we have the best record of youth development in England and comparable to any other global club. It's a record that is part of the fabric of Manchester United and we should be doing everything to build on youth and continue to champion youth development. 5. I was pleased that Amorin directly said that we would always find space in the squad for youngsters...but not to keep a record...but as a message to all our current and future youth players...you will always get a chance at United. The way it should always be. 6. Finally, I'm not reading too much into the comments in the press or on social media...once we start to win regularly again there will be plenty of places for youth players to make their mark once again. I can't wait to see the next starlet to make the grade.

List all the taxes that the current uk labour government have introduced that target the ... As of September 2025, the UK Labour government has introduced several tax changes that are specifically targeted at the wealthy. These were announced in the Autumn Budget 2024 and are part of a broader strategy to raise revenue and reform the tax system. ® Changes to the taxation of non-domiciled individuals • Replacement of the remittance basis: The government is abolishing the "non-dom" tax status, which allowed individuals to avoid paying UK tax on their foreign income and gains. It is being replaced with a residence-based regime, where most new arrivals will not pay tax on foreign income for their first four years of UK residency. • Inheritance tax for offshore trusts: Labour plans to close loopholes related to offshore trusts, ensuring that trusts established by non-UK-domiciled individuals will be subject to UK inheritance tax. Increased compliance and enforcement: The government is investing in HMRC to boost compliance activities and close the "tax gap," with a focus on tackling offshore tax avoidance and evasion. ® Higher taxes on capital and investments Capital Gains Tax (CGT) rate increase: The main rates of CGT saw an increase from 10% and 20% to 18% and 24% for disposals starting October 30, 2024. The rate for Business Asset Disposal Relief is also increasing. Reforming carried interest: The tax treatment of carried interest will be changed, bringing it into the income tax framework from April 2026. An interim increase in CGT rates for carried interest to 32% will take effect in April 2025. Reforming Business Property and Agricultural Property Relief: For Inheritance Tax, the 100% relief for these assets will be limited to £1 million from April 6, 2026, with a 50% rate applied to amounts above that. Inheritance tax on inherited pensions: From April 2027, unused pension funds and death benefits will be included in a person's estate for Inheritance Tax, with scheme administrators handling reporting and payment. Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) increase: Higher rates of SDLT on additional properties and those bought by non-natural persons were raised from October 31, 2024. Other measures • VAT on private school fees: VAT will be applied to private school fees starting January 1, 2025, and business rates relief for these schools ended in April 2025. • Increased Energy Profits Levy: The rate of the Energy Profits Levy on oil and gas company profits was increased and extended, with some investment allowances removed. e Policies not introduced • No new wealth tax: Despite some proposals, a new wealth tax has been consistently ruled out. • Pensions lifetime allowance: The government reversed its plan to reintroduce the pensions lifetime allowance. ® What about taxes on private plane use? Yes, the current UK Labour government has introduced tax increases specifically targeting private plane use, as announced in the Autumn Budget 2024. This measure is framed as ensuring the wealthy contribute more fairly to public finances and addressing climate concerns. The key changes include: 50% increase in Air Passenger Duty (APD) for larger private jets, which took effect from April 1, 2026. Expansion of the higher rate APD to cover all private jets, regardless of their weight or number of seats. The government held a consultation on this change, which closed in January 2025. This move addresses the previous exemption of many smaller private jets from the higher APD rate. Additional increases to APD rates for all flights in 2025 and 2026. While the increase for economy class passengers was relatively small, the hike for larger private jets was significantly higher. These changes have resulted in notably higher tax bills for private jet passengers, with the largest increases affecting longer-haul flights. The reforms are also intended to better align aviation taxation with the government's net-zero emissions targets.
