I still can’t believe Scott Bessent, whose net worth is $521 million, went on TV and claimed that he “has felt the pain” of the trade war because he is a “soybean farmer.”

And he claims to be a “farmer” not because he grows things, but because he is a landlord of some farmers.

I don’t really think the framers intended for a president to have the power to slap a tariff on products from a particular country because he didn’t like a TV commercial they ran about him, but I suppose it is presently up to the Supreme Ct to decide how far the Mad King can go.

it’s because of the establishment dems. they are ultimately intertwined with republicans via donors, so they aren’t going to rock the boat too much. we are going to have to replicate what mamdani, aoc and others are doing all over the country if we want a party by the people for the people
