When I first saw the Franklin image, I thought it was satire making fun of how callous the violence was being carried and how normalized it had become. Then, I realized it was posted unironically by Hegseth. Reality is much more absurd and cruel than anything we can make up at this point.

I saw some article about Wake Up, Dead Man not doing very well in theaters this weekend. Where I live, it was only playing in two theaters in 50 miles. Very small old ones. We drove like 30 miles to see it. On top of that, I've hardly seen any ads for it, so like duh it's not making much money

Yesterday, there was a trailer for a doc on the school shooting preparedness industry, and my spouse thought it was satire. I had to explain that it was in fact very, very real. Poor @theonion.com has to constantly compete with the absurdity of reality
