I was part of the antiwar movement in 2003 and it totally disillusioned me. I went to the Women's March after Trump's 1st inauguration but I knew it wouldn't impact. But I'm riding an inflatable TRex with the union delegation today but fully aware that it won't matter. Protests aren't elections.

This weekend, if all the advance publicity and all the hysterics from the administration are to be believed, may well see the largest weekend of public protest since the Vietnam War.

Any voter who needs to be persuaded away from fascism, racism, misogyny and bigotry is not a voter we need in our party. But you do need to convince Dem-leaning voters to cast a ballot, and the weak tea they've been serving will continue to fail.

Everything that just happened was both brutal and expected given how we've seen ISP behave these last few weeks.

Saw troopers striking people with batons, dragging protesters. They're currently cuffing someone marked as a medic. Approximately nine people we see in state custody now.

That framework has been dismantled and revealed as impotent even when it was intact. Reagan's crew was the first to notice & use it, Cheney & Rumsfeld picked up the ball & ran with it, Trump accelerated it to Mach I. The Constitution has *no* enforcement mechanisms, it relies on good will & honor.

Keep the gov't shut down to ensure the fascist police state is not funded. But remember: Trump learned from Putin, Orban & Erdogan to turn the state against opposition, nobody will stop you, ignore them if they try. Trump learned from Cheney that the Constitution is "just a goddam piece of paper".
