I'm on work travel, and I am taking the evening off to recharge, before another packed day tomorrow.

I'm hoping a bit of #art in my #sketchbook will help with that!

Same pages as before, but more time.
A notebook, open on a dark table. On the left page it reads: To fill up a sketchbook is to love it. On the right page is a series of doodles done in ballpoint pen. To the right of the notebook are my favorite pencils in sleeves, a ballpoint pen, a pencil sharpener, and a kneadable eraser.

Okay backgrounds in comics.

So they don't bother me too much because I worked for a long time to find a way of doing them that didn't feel tedious or boring for ME (diff for others prob).

Also, style of comic has a lot to do with it.

My main rule for myself tho: At least one background a page.

Emausaurus, a basal thyreophoran from early-Jurassic Germany. Liaoningosaurus, an early ankylosaur described as hypothetically turtle-like in habit and diet. The Barsboldia from the beginning now says farewell to a towering Therizinosaurus.

In a comic panel, a figure wearing red boots approaches the blue-and-red figure of the Storm Warden, greeting them. 3 cartoon crows introduce themselves as gnomes to the Storm Warden, as they are wearing boots and hats, proving their gnominess. The crows posing as gnomes ask the Storm Warden to share their shag with them, which they will reward using their super amazing and fantastic poorly defined gnome powers. The Storm Warden points out they they are onviously crows.

Been feeling this lately!

I'm spending way more time in the sketchbook. Really enjoying the tactility for the first time, ever! Graphite on good paper is luxurious, forgiving, and dynamic.

I'll eventually post pics, hence the stuck.

How can people enjoy my work if I don't make it digital?!

I think the biggest pitfall of sci-fi/fantasy storytelling, especially for worldbuilders, in the infodump.

You're (rightfully) just so proud of all the work you put into creating a cohesive setting that you just wanna PUKE it all over readers/watchers on page one.
