I'm on work travel, and I am taking the evening off to recharge, before another packed day tomorrow.

I'm hoping a bit of #art in my #sketchbook will help with that!

Same pages as before, but more time.

Got a new sketchbook from @samdoesarts.bsky.social at #LightBox, and I get it now. The paper in this thing has such a satisfying texture. I've been off tradition sketching for a while now, preferring digital, but this FEELS GOOD!

I finally bought the first trio of "How to Think When You Draw" books from the @etheringtonbros.bsky.social Kickstarter this year, and I've been REALLY enjoying thumbing through them. The make me want to draw even more!

Even more projects are swimming in my brain... 🥴

I love Obsidian! I used to use OneNote for everything, but I really liked the extensibility and open file format.

I have been writing comic scripts in it recently. I've got the world and plot draft for a graphic novel in there. As, well as my daily notes, random ideas, TTRPG notes, and more! 🧠🪣

The new friend says, "They are fighting about that now..." It is waving a mouth tentacle at its new friends. Panel 4: One of the geneticists is about the smash the other with a chair as the fight escalates. The new friend says, "One is calling me an Octopussy. The other insists on Coctpus!" The new friend sheds a tear at how awful both names would be.

This is based off of a Star Wars themed Scum & Villainy TTRPG game from @evilhat.bsky.social, that I GM.

Our crew is trying to figure out the significance of a stolen artifact. They were drawn to this Imperial Archeology site by the artifact.

The crew then get out of the ship, pretending to be imperial officers and start ordering people around. Meanwhile, on the ship Zed is trying to handle a very Force active statuette. Panel4: one of the crew continues to boss people around to keep them distracted as the bring the statuette closer to the base of the large statue. They reach out with the force to figure out the best cubby to place it in, and proceed to do so. End of page 4, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!? The text on the sheet is placeholder for lettering, and inking is down to the last two panels.

I try to protect all my art and whatever I'm posting too, but Nightshade has been doing a number on my works. These are with intensity set to low, too.

Nightshade makes it feel like an overcooked JPEG. I'm conflicted on whether it is worth it for someone just starting out.

Your piece is a beauty, I love those sunset colors! It feels epic.

This is one of my most 'complete' pieces, where I was trying for a full scene. I'm proud of it, because it was quite the stretch for me and I feel like it turned out how I wanted it to look and feel.

Yet another Ahsoka illustration! I did this for a May Challenge on a Discord server I recently joined. I also wanted to see if I could get it completed in a single day. This is also my first drawing in CSP. I am approximating 3hrs, spaced out through the day while working.

For spring break, we took an camping trip from southern California through Arizona to visit as many National Monuments as we could!

We love being outdoors where we find camping areas that most people can't get to, exploring them, and spending quality time together without the usual distractions.

It is a stone pueblo in a depression left by a nearby volcano.
