Hey Blue-sky! I'm working on Innkeep, a game about being a sneaky innkeeper! You get to:

- Serve ale and food. 🍲🍺
- Eavesdrop on guests to learn their secrets. 🤫
- Develop a silver tongue and turn on the charm. 😏
- Sneak into bedrooms and steal trinkets. 💰
- Summon demons?? 🕯️🔥👹

A demon standing in a glowing pentagram. The player stands nearby, shocked. A sorceress in a purple and dark blue robe is raising a heart to the air. It is in a pixel art style. Theft mini game screen. We see a sleeping guest in a bed, a backpack nearby, and a cursor hand holding a sword. The common room of the Weary Pilgrim inn at night. It is in a pixel art style. There are four tables, around which sit eight people in three groups. The player character is wearing an apron, and listening to a conversation at one table. An alpine vista is in the background. In the foreground the player character is walking along a muddy road, towards the Weary Pilgrim inn.

The bulk of works could be procedurally generated, for volume, but 1 in 10 might be hand-authored, with potentially significant secrets about the past being hidden anywhere. Scholars keep visiting and demanding you provide them with books about specific subjects.

Make the books readable, but the reading is like initiating a dialogue using storylets. Most you cannot understand much at all, as you haven't unlocked the requisite states (knowledge / language). As you learn more, you can revisit old books to discover new passages.

A game where the lord of a planar nexus orders the construction of a great library to hold the written works of all worlds. It's Wilmots Warehouse meets the ancient library from Book of the New Sun. You gotta learn dozens of languages to decipher titles and create your own organization strategies.

fantasy map illustration depicting a landscape full of ragged mountains up and down, crossed by crooked roads, some on giant stone structures. There is a valley with hills and woods to the south, a desert with wretched lands just east of it, wetlands to the west and east with flooded cities and temples, snowy plains to the northeast with a giant skeleton and tree and an impossibly tall mountain in the northwest whose peak is obscured by dark clouds. a fantasy map illustration depicting a continent with a bigger mainland and a large island to the west of it. the biomes go from snowy mountains, a vast wetland, grasslands with many hills. the prevalent features here is that it is crossed by many rivers in all directions and it is surrounded by a the shades of a vast submarine landscape that where part of this land before a big flood catastrophe. colourful drawing of an island crossed by a mountain range, rivers and forests scattered around. a planar map in the shape of a compass rose. Picard: Wesley, I notice you’ve been requesting a lot of computer files from the early 21st century. Records from that time are… inaccurate at best. There’s a reason we call that era The Great Cringe

Wesley: You’re only saying that because you don’t eat enough beef tallow

Co-written by Steven King apparently.

It says "I want to play". You know. In a creepy way.

Scully puts it in a microwave.

Yeah atmosphere in spades. And a great OST.

Yes, I am always defending Pagan. Along with being pushed out the door too early it was also a genre switch, which I think is where a lot of the disappointment came from. But judged as an action RPG, I think it was very ahead of its time in a lot of ways.

Yeah I was a massive Ultima fan at the time. Played through U7 maybe 3-4 times. Underworld 2-3 times. Savage Isle twice I think! But I never played 4-6 until later.

I quite liked Serpent Isle as well, for all its faults. I think I played it through twice. Def. found the second half required extensive walkthrough reading at the time.

Very well put together as always. I love the work he's put into this series.
