A chain reaction of mutations triggers after a mosquito bites the Man-Thing, creating a threat to all of the planet's fauna, ocean life-forms included The Sub-Mariner, Namor, finds Man-thing demanding his help in saving the oceans, where sea creatures have been contaminated because of him The two team-up, preventing further damage from occurring but it's too late as even the creatures living in the depths of the oceans have been contamined. A giant Kraken attacks the duo and shallows Man-thing As Namor believes he has no way to win against the Kraken, The Man-Thing returns and stops the giant sea creature. Afterwards he reclaims the pieces of himself that has infected Namor and this action makes Namor finally trust the creture. They later continue to stop the infections, restoring the seas and preventing further damage from occurring

I feel like if people just take a brief look at how badly managed Atlantis is in the comics then they'd understand the greatest strength of sub-mariner comics is the character, which translated well on screen even with a diff background
