Happy birthday to you.

(This is an evergreen post for when it applies to you)
@gleasonryan.videogames.fyi Question. Do I know you from somewhere outside of Bluesky? I feel like I do. My memory sucks.

This week in my fantasy football league: three of my players went out in the first quarter of their games and I'm getting beaten by a guy who hasn't set a line up since Week 2.

I am truly a hero.

How to fix the WarGames Surivor Series match: Make it an elimination match right off the bat, when two wrestlers are in the ring. Change it from 5 minutes to an entrant entering the cage to three minutes.

Make it more of a Survivor Series match that takes place in the ring(s).

In other wrestling news, I'm counting down the days until AEW Worlds End. I can't waiting for @kingserpentico.bsky.social to finally deliver my first paycheck to me, after working for him for 3 years.

Still my favorite spot, every year.

Also, TKO ain't getting a dime of my money. I'm obviously watching WarGames in another country. I'm totally in Canada with my family.
I'm breaking my no WWE rule tonight. My son loves WarGames, so... gotta be a dad. Also, I love almost everyone in the women's WarGames match.

Anyway.... you know the drill.

I am truly a hero.

I actually did this last week with my son. We both picked up two random books and bought them.

We've also started going to local shops a lot more that primarily sell art/toys from local artists.

What I'm really saying is... I am truly a hero.
I remember @immatelfring.com tried to start a thing in Comic Vine where people would go to their local comic store and buy a random comic.
Being extremely new to comics I ended up leaving with Joe the Barbarian and the first Demon Knights trade.

Demon Knights kicks ass.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste

The B&N near me is pretty cool. There's a whole section for board games, TTRPGs, graphic novels, and manga. (Graphic novels are one long row and the other side is graphic novels)

Thread, I guess
The other day I saw the same thing in the B&N near me and it startled me so much that it’s encouraged me even more to work more on prose or learn some game design. Bleak stuff!

My favorite thing about capitalism is that when one sector funded by billionaires crashes, the government bails them out, and the regular, average taxpayer has to pay for it.

Really excited to have my taxes go to the bailout of the AI crash.

We need italics on here for something for sarcasm.

So @nathanielpiha.bsky.social suggested we frame some of the @eccomics.bsky.social @oni-press.bsky.social BLOOD TYPE covers. Great idea! They are all beautiful but we did a set of the gorgeous @patriciamartinn.bsky.social alternates and just look how nice they look together 🩸

There have been a lot of big budget movies filmed in my city, but is this the only one that takes place in it.

A movie that took local lore and legend about a haunted road and its connection to the Underground Railroad and completely botched the story, which was written by someone who lives here.

By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.

Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.

So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.
