an evening stroll with friends. I would so enjoy that.
My novels pretty bad but it's the kind of thing Jess from Gilmore girls might have published, that helps me feel better

have learned over the years that you know when cricket or some shit is on when the Brits on the tl start posting like "Borthwick has to get 120 to keep us in this? I'm going back to bed!"

A lot of people don’t know this but true sovereignty can only be achieved when your nation has the perfect number of chill Protestants - the number is a secret and designated by European betters who will reveal it to us when we show appropriate gratitude for how much they thought about us in the 80s

Faber could set up a subsidiary in Dublin, Ireland, or even abroad. Or come to an arrangement with a foreign house. Ship the stuff to UK under plain cover.

Love hearing SFrs on the radio not committing to whether or not they support good popular things that will make life better, cos they think their voters are thick and probably racist

my jaw is on the floor and yet im completely unsurprised. trump’s only political conviction is that he loves a handsome winner
A reporter asks if Mamdani stands by calling Trump a fascist. Mamdani starts to give a delicate answer.

Trump (smiles, pats Mamdani's arm): "That's OK, you can just say yes. It's easier. I don't mind."

it annoys me how long it took me to realise the thrust of the highlighted section given the information everywhere else. I think if I had been more informed or conscious of other people's wishful thinking I would've known it sooner, and not published so many stupid opinions on websites

Basically agree with this, though I'd say there are occasional flashes of the 62-66 genius in his later stuff (e.g. 'Hurricane'). And fully on board with the The Band bashing (the fact they're called The Band should also form part of the prosecution). Also appreciated the billy woods comparison.

it's so interesting how every single person has lost their fucking mind, and how every day we are exposed to new ways in which someone can lose their fucking minds, ways that we had considered possible but almost mythical, like we're all explorers who keep happening upon lost worlds of madness

The folks at FT Alphaville take @edzitron.com seriously, for what it's worth. And by his/their estimates, OpenAI's costs of inference - the cost of running the models, not counting the cost of developing them - are almost double their revenue, and the gap is getting wider. www.ft.com/content/fce7...
