I'm tired. We're all tired. This isn't hard to understand. You can't inflate prices of basic necessities like food and housing to ridiculous highs while keeping wages at poverty levels, then act surprised when luxury goods/services and large purchases become unattainable or payments unaffordable.

‘The exceptionally limited edition book.’ (My cartoon for this week’s @theguardian.com books)
Next: "Please insert camera."
About 500 in our tiny town. Cops not on high alert like last time. Just a swing by sometimes.

A few Magats yelling from the safety of their trucks, one with a stealth-nazi iron cross on the bumper.

Lots of American flags in our crowd, none of which were disrespected of defaced with swastikas.

List of US gov accounts peddling the current administration's fascist propaganda. Deprive them of engagement by blocking them 🚫

bsky.app/profile/did:...
How do you find these accounts in order to preemptively block them?

A #Roman figurine of a dog, shown lying down with its back legs curled underneath, looking at something behind it. Dogs feature quite prominently in Roman everyday art, associated with loyalty & healing, & valued for their companionship (just like today!) 🐶 🏺 #AncientBlueSky #Archaeology

An adorable little #Roman figurine of a mouse playing a trumpet - because, why not?

After a day at the games, little Flavius was thrilled when his father bought him a souvenir lamp with a man being devoured alive by lions. Just like it happened in the amphitheater! Such fun. 😳 🏺

There was a 'womp' sound from the yard. I looked out the window.

Where the large pile of leaves had been, a dragon sat.

"Oi!" I called.

"The hoard was unguarded," the dragon said. "I claim it."

Every damn year. It'll leave once the leaves lose their golden hue. Meanwhile, I can't order takeaway.
In high school I learned that I could mail-order books from some publishers like ACE. Guessing which ones I'd like by the title actually gave me a more diverse reading experience that I might have otherwise had. (Still all F&SF, though.)

Nonsense from people who want it to be true.
The adorableness... it burns!
I loved it! Thank you for making it.
Witchy hair will never submit!!!
Ah.

Yeah...

At this point, it might be more efficient to write on parchment with oak-gall ink and a quill.
XD Bronze Age Collapse conspiracy theories!

"Why are all these raiders attacking everywhere?"

"Must be a coordinated effort by..." *hands in the air* "SOMEBODY!"

#SkyStorians, question: are there small pots of money out there for non-affiliated historians to apply to to support their research project? Most of what I can find are full postdocs or small grants for people in a post to buy them out a bit.

With jobs going, some more of those funds would be good?
