Main ref for Hyper from 2022.

The shoes aren't canon, I just needed something there lol
I like Sonic and all, but I'm kinda getting sick of mostly posting Sonic art so much lately lol

Gonna be drawing more of my own characters and more expanded ideas, plus stuff I wanted to practice more like fashion and environments.

Mostly want to change the ratio of fan art to my own stuff.

I always miss shading stuff when I stop doing it for a while, so have this.

It's honestly nuts that I sometimes still feel like a newcomer to the table when I've been making digital art for nearly 20 years at this point.

Maybe it's because I started so young?

Oh yeah, I still need to talk about how I did this lol

I'll see about doing it sometime this week. I want to figure out a simple parallax rig first. Getting some good results from shader-driven stuff.
Recently discovered I can do large-scale sprite animation in Blender

For the past week and a half, I feel like I've started to rekindle the joy of having made something and a sense of pride in my work, a feeling I haven't felt in years.

I've enjoyed the process, but usually I feel nothing after the fact, so this is a nice change.

Something I think is funny as a background character detail is several games hint at Sonic being a little bit of a gambling addict.

Quick "large pixel art" experiment from a couple days ago.

Part of a larger idea, we'll see how that pans out.

There's a lot of art that I used to be really proud of that's a bit too old and, frankly, ugly to share these days.

Don't take this to mean I'm ashamed of the effort I put in back in the day, but I consider them more "stepping stones" and they don't represent who I am now.

Therapy is working, I'm getting to the source. This week I think I've found the biggest source of art block (among other things) that has plagued me for at least 15 years that I memory holed.

If you noticed an uptick in my posting habits, this is why.

At some point soon I may need to start looking into commissions again, but I have no idea what to charge or what kind of interest there is in my art.

I'm a bit blind to the value of my work. Any thoughts?
