If you haven't already it's probably a good idea to make sure that you have adequate supplies of food and water put by, and to make sure that you have torches and candles and other forms of light close to hand. If you have a battery pack now is probably the time to make sure that it's charged.

Maybe the Government can't afford to avert the Mega Strike by paying public sector workers what they're worth, because it chose to prioritise billions in tax cuts to wealthy landlords over a proper pay deal for workers. 🤔

We should be using fiscal policy to help manage the economic cycle - instead the government is determined to force the Reserve Bank to do all the work. That hinders our recovery and leads to unnecessary misery. Real people will suffer in communities around Aotearoa for this.
